The University of the Basque Country (Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in basque language, EHU) is the public university of the Basque Country and one of the main academic and research institutions in northern Spain. With around 45,000 students and 5,000 academic staff, EHU offers a broad portfolio of studies across all fields of knowledge, including 67 bachelor's degrees and 103 official master's programmes. Research is a central part of EHU's mission. The university develops scientific activity across a wide range of disciplines and supports research through advanced facilities, research services and specialised centres. Its Doctoral School offers doctoral training across all areas of knowledge, contributing to the development of highly qualified researchers.
